The UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) is a registered charity whose aim is to advance the education of children and young people in mathematics. The UKMT organises national mathematics competitions and other mathematical enrichment activities for 11-18 year old UK school pupils. They were established in 1996 and last academic year over 600,000 pupils from 4,000 schools took part in the three individual challenges, the UK's biggest national maths competitions. Each challenge leads into a follow-on Olympiad round and they run mentoring schemes and summer schools for high performing students as well as training the team of six to represent the UK in the International Mathematical Olympiad.
Junior UKMT June 2020 - What happens after the Challenge? Results will be published in your online account by 8th July, with stats for your school and downloadable named certificates. To recognise the highest performers in the Challenge, we award the top-scoring 40% of participants Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates in the ratio 3:2:1.
We will also provide you with full solutions to the JMC questions and extension tasks. Students will also be able to log back in to compare their answers with the solutions. The students will be able to see the question, the answer options with their answer highlighted, whether they answered correctly and a solution explanation underneath.

These UKMT results are indicative of our recent school EDT report comments regarding Maths achievement at Bromsgrove International School :
‘Students attainment and progress in Mathematics is outstanding throughout the school’.
‘Their attainment in Mathematics significantly exceeds that of students in UK schools in every measure at IGCSE and A level’.
It continues to be a pleasure for the Mathematics Department to facilitate consistent high Mathematical achievement.
Take care,
Mr.England.

Both Jake (Jun Hyung Kwon) and Tonfon (Pennueng Tip-pairote) received a certification of merit for their competent performance in their respective extra rounds of the UKMT Intermediate Mathematical Olympiad.
Jake receives a merit certificate in the Hamilton round & Tonfon receives a merit certificate in the Maclaurin round. These rounds are designed specifically to stretch able Mathematicians, a merit certificate is a great achievement.
Please join me in congratulating both students"

Muk in Year 8 has achieved a fantastic result in her follow up to her Intermediate UKMT entry:
Muk had the opportunity to take part in the Grey Kangaroo competition. The name sounds strange, but recognises the fact that the organisation was inspired by the Austrailian Mathematical Trust.
Each year a thousand pupils from 50 countries throughout the world who sit the Intermediate Challenge are invited to sit the grey or pink Kangaroo papers, dependent on school year. So when students sit the Kangaroo they are part of a huge community of Maths students!
The UKMT has been involved in Kangaroo activities for many years and uses the hour-long multiple-choice papers (in English) as an extension to the Intermediate Challenge.
Muk achieved a very pleasing score of 107 out of 137 and was awarded a merit certification. Considering that Muk is only a Year 8 Junior UKMT student, this shows a real gift for English language and outstanding Mathematical ability.
Well done to Muk on her award and also to I-Tim, Jun Hyoung Ko and Mike who also took part in their respective Kangaroo competitions

The SEAMO 2017 results have arrived.
SEAMO is the Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad competition involving students from as far away as Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and the USA.
Mathematical Olympiad competitions are popular among many top prestigious schools. At Bromsgrove we aim to identify and discover mathematical talents through creative challenges, we try to inspire and to embrace enthusiastic young minds to take part in and enjoy Mathematical competitions.
SEAMO provided a resource for students of various levels to hone their problem-solving skills and to prepare for more challenging mathematical competitions. It proved to be a very challenging competition for all our students.
We had entries from both primary and secondary and are pleased to announce that all participates received a certificate with the winners receiving a winning certificate and a medal.
Across the various categories we had 5 bronze winners, 3 silver winners and 1 gold winner.
Gold: Si Young Choi - Thomas (Year 12).
